Whooo! Thanks God! I am finally done with my Driving written exam. It was a long friday for the two of us, Scott and I. We woke up early in that day in order to do some errands. First, we went to Scott’s workplace in T-Mobile to get his new bid shift. Again, he is going to work a night shift schedule up to early in the morning (1:30 am) Gosh! Yes, it’s hard but it’s ok too because we can say that we are both a night persons. We can stay awake long during the night. And of course, My Baby will get his night deferential again. It means extra income for both of us. After he got his new schedule, we went to "Denny" Restaurant to have some breakfast. We are kinda hungry in that time. I need energy too because I am going to take an exam. We’ve arrived in Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) around 12:00 noonish. When we got there, so many people waiting in line. We followed the long line too until our time came to talk to the Receptionist about our purpose. The Receptionist asked for my Identifications. That’s why I gave my Passport, Greencard and also my Social Security Card. He told us both to photocopy my Greencard and Social Security Card and come back again. It’s all good that he already gave our number. When we came back, He said that ‘It should be two copies not only one’…grrrr…Scott said ‘I taught you just said one copy only? I can give you a dime now, it just cost 10 cents for photocopy’…lol… I guess he changes his mind and offers to photocopy our document inside the office. We just said "that’s good, thanks". When he got back, he said that we have to wait until our number was called. It’s "hurry up and wait" guys. We just sitted there both while waiting for our number to be called. Our number is 284 and guess what? only 153 flashing on the board in that time. Patience Ashley…patience Scott…lol…I remembered Scott keeps going out either went for a walk or smokes. When he came back, he already bought drinks for us while waiting. I’m just glad that we already eaten before we go there. So many people waiting inside the building. Ok wait and wait again…until finally we’ve heared our number was called. Yehey!!! We’ve been waiting for so long. The personnel in charges of us is an Asian girl too. Cool! She just got my Greencard, Social Security Card and the xerox copies. She gave me a test paper and instructed me to go in the testing area. This is it! The test is up to 25 items. It’s a kinda confusing a little bit but I’m just glad I’ve passed the test. Because here in Colorado, 80% is the passing rate. So it means, you must only have five mistakes or less than that out of 25 items to pass the exam. Because if it’s more than that, you are going to fail. It’s either take the exam again or go back when you’re ready to take the test. Ouch! Fortunately, I did it. But you know what? I’m really nervous in that time because I don’t want to fail, go back and then wait for so long again. We are waiting for that moment since the beginning. So that Scott can starts teach me how to drive then. I do really want to learn how to drive. It’s a privilege for me. I will have more freedom and go wherever I want to go. I can visits my freinds, go shopping and work without having to worry of my transportation. After I take the exam, I went back to the personnel and then she asked me few questions. Like "If I’m willing to become an organ or tissue donor?". I said Yes, it means I can help other people when my time came. She also gave me a ‘vision test’. It’s all good then because I am wearing my eye glasses in that time and I will not drive without it. And then she instructed us to go to Cashier section and wait until my name was called to pay for the Instruction Permit ID. My name was called then, we paid for my Instruction Permit ID. The lady personnel next to cashier took my picture, got my fingerprints and asked for my signature. I remembered the lady personnel said that I have a very good picture. I guess, it’s a compliment. I just said "thank you kindly" as a responds to her. She gave me a temporary document valid for 30 days and told me to wait until my Instruction permit ID send through mail. I feel so much relief after. Because I’ve passed the test. I’ve prepared for that time, in fact before I take the exam, I reviewed the Colorado Driving Manual. At least we already finished that thing. The next step is learning for me how to drive in actual. It’s matter of time. I’m again very thankful for having my baby Scott in life. He is very supportive to me. He gives me confidence that I can make it! "It’s just one foot in front of the other". One step at a time. Learning is a long process but with God’s grace, we can make it, most especially this is for me. I just said to myself that one day "I will drive for my husband this time instead of him driving for me". So that I know the feeling and "experience is the best teacher".
